Hardware and compatibility
Choose hardware around the workflow
Match person, exact model, connection, client, account workflow and final destination
A microphone for browser recording does not necessarily follow the same path as a portable recorder, transcription foot control or wearable device used with SpeechLive Health.
DictaMic helps qualify the exact model, client, operating environment and handoff before a hardware purchase.
EXACT-MODEL CHECK
Match the device to the client and handoff
The current official list is model- and client-specific. A Shopify product page is a transaction destination, not independent proof of SpeechLive compatibility.

Start with the way people work
Record at a computer
Use the SpeechLive Web App when the author works in a supported browser and wants to record or manage dictation from the workstation. Current U.S. requirements support the latest Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, with Edge limited to Windows. Safari on macOS is not supported.
Work through the Desktop App
The SpeechLive Desktop App supports current documented Windows and macOS environments and provides a separate device path from browser recording. It is also the documented route for automatic upload from supported portable recorders such as the PocketMemo DPM8000.
Dictate from a smartphone
The SpeechLive Mobile App supports the two most recent versions of iOS/watchOS and Android on smartphones. The mobile route is useful when an author wants to capture work away from a desk. External mobile-device compatibility should be confirmed separately; the current system-requirements page does not establish support for every Bluetooth or USB microphone.
Control playback while typing
A transcription foot control is selected for the typist’s client and playback workflow. Exact model support, connection method and pedal configuration matter.
SpeechMike choices for browser and desktop work
Current U.S. SpeechLive requirements list three Philips SpeechMike families for both the Web App and Desktop App.
SpeechMike Premium Touch
The SMP3700, SMP3710, SMP3800 and SMP3810 are wired USB models. The family includes push-button and slide-switch controls, with barcode-scanner variants in the SMP3800 line. DictaMic currently offers the SMP3700; confirm the exact control style and client before choosing another family variant.
SpeechMike Premium Air
The SMP4000 and SMP4010 are wireless models. Philips documents a 2.4 GHz connection through the ACC4000 docking station, with the ACC4100 AirBridge as an accessory. This is not a generic Bluetooth connection. Choose between push-button and slide-switch operation, then confirm the planned workstation, dock or AirBridge path.
SpeechMike Premium
The LFH3500 and LFH3600 are wired USB models. DictaMic currently offers the LFH3500; the LFH3600 requires guidance-first routing because a separate current DictaMic transaction destination was not verified. Confirm the exact model, control style, USB connection and selected SpeechLive client.
These models provide capture hardware. They do not decide the account plan, activate AI features or remove the need to review recognized text and AI-generated drafts.
PocketMemo for portable recording and automatic upload
PocketMemo recorders are for authors who want to capture dictation away from the computer and transfer it later. Current U.S. SpeechLive requirements list the DPM8000, DPM7000 and DPM6000 for automatic dictation upload through the SpeechLive Desktop App. DictaMic currently offers the DPM8000 and DPM6000; the DPM7000 requires guidance-first routing because a current DictaMic transaction destination was not verified.
The same current requirements list Olympus DS-9500, DS-9000, DS-7000 and DS-5000 for automatic upload through the Desktop App. These are exact-model qualifications, not a general Olympus compatibility statement. No current DictaMic recorder destination for those four models was verified, so they remain guidance-only routes.
Automatic upload is a configured Desktop App workflow. It is not the same as recording directly in a browser or sending audio through the mobile app. Before purchase or migration, confirm the recorder model, supported computer, Desktop App setup, user account, upload destination and responsibility for reviewing the resulting work.
Foot controls for transcription
The current U.S. requirements list Philips ACC2310, ACC2320 and ACC2330 foot controls for the SpeechLive Web App. They connect by USB and use different three- or four-pedal layouts. DictaMic currently offers the ACC2320 and ACC2330.
Philips also lists selected third-party foot controls: Olympus RS31H, Olympus RS28H and VEC Infinity3. Those models require Philips Device Connector. That list does not establish support for every third-party pedal. If you own a different model—or a similarly named product—request a model check before relying on it.
SpeechMike Ambient and SpeechLive Health
Philips presents SpeechMike Ambient PSM5000 and PSM5020 as wearable capture kits for ambient AI and traditional speech-recognition workflows. The current U.S. SpeechLive Health page also presents SpeechMike Ambient as a capture option for SpeechLive Health.
That relationship does not establish general Web App or Desktop App compatibility: the current general SpeechLive system-requirements list does not name PSM5000 or PSM5020. DictaMic will confirm the Health AI account, intended capture setting, exact kit, connection path and current compatibility before recommending it.
No bundle, free-device, inventory or promotional promise is made here. Current hardware availability and transaction details belong in DictaMic Shopify and must be checked at the time of purchase.
Client and operating-environment checklist
Before selecting a device, confirm:
- Whether the user records in the Web App, Desktop App, Mobile App or SpeechLive Health workflow.
- The exact device model and control style.
- The supported operating system and browser on the intended workstation.
- USB, dock, AirBridge, Bluetooth Low Energy or other verified connection requirements.
- Whether Philips Device Connector or another approved component is required.
- Whether the workflow needs direct recording, playback control or automatic recorder upload.
- The Author, Typist, administrator and reviewer responsibilities.
- The current Shopify destination, availability and transaction terms.
Operating-system, browser, firmware, client and model support can change. Recheck the current U.S. requirements before deployment or a larger hardware purchase.
Compatibility is a chain, not a badge
A supported model can still be the wrong choice when the client, computer, connection or handoff differs from the planned workflow. DictaMic’s recommendation process checks the complete chain:
person → capture method → exact model → connection → SpeechLive client → account workflow → reviewer → final destination
The result is a recommendation route, not a guarantee that an untested customer environment or every device feature will work. Virtual environments, third-party software, custom button mapping and customer security controls require additional review.
Keep software decisions and purchases in the right place
Use this page to understand the capture path. Use US Plans and Pricing for current SpeechLive and AI commercial information. Use Security and Privacy for platform and customer-control questions. Use Integrations for connected-system requirements.
Hardware prices, inventory, shipping, checkout and payment remain in DictaMic Shopify. A Shopify listing does not by itself prove SpeechLive compatibility; the exact model must still match the current SpeechLive requirements and intended client.
Review remains part of every output
Hardware improves how speech is captured and controlled. It does not make recognized text or an AI-generated draft final. A responsible person must review, correct and approve the output for its intended use. Legal and clinical materials retain their separate professional-use restrictions.
Frequently asked questions
Does every Philips dictation device work with SpeechLive?
No. Philips publishes a finite, client-specific list. Confirm the exact model, client, operating environment, connection and workflow before purchase or rollout.
Can I use a SpeechMike in the Web App and Desktop App?
The current U.S. requirements list SpeechMike Premium Touch SMP3700/3710/3800/3810, SpeechMike Premium Air SMP4000/4010 and SpeechMike Premium LFH3500/LFH3600 for both clients. Confirm the current list and your exact model.
Is SpeechMike Premium Air Bluetooth?
Philips documents the SMP4000 family as using a 2.4 GHz wireless connection through the ACC4000 docking station or optional ACC4100 AirBridge. Do not treat it as a generic Bluetooth microphone.
How does PocketMemo automatic upload work?
The current requirements list PocketMemo DPM8000, DPM7000 and DPM6000 plus Olympus DS-9500, DS-9000, DS-7000 and DS-5000 for automatic upload through the SpeechLive Desktop App. The exact recorder, computer, Desktop App and upload workflow must be configured and verified.
Which foot controls are supported?
The current Web App list includes Philips ACC2310, ACC2320 and ACC2330. It also names Olympus RS31H, Olympus RS28H and VEC Infinity3 through Philips Device Connector. Other models require separate confirmation.
Can I use Safari on a Mac?
Not for the SpeechLive Web App under the current requirements. Philips explicitly states that browsers such as Safari on macOS are not supported. Use the current supported-browser guidance and evaluate the Desktop App where appropriate.
Does SpeechMike Ambient work with every SpeechLive client?
That is not established by the current general system-requirements list. Philips presents PSM5000/PSM5020 for ambient and dictation use and shows SpeechMike Ambient with SpeechLive Health. DictaMic must confirm the exact client, account and configuration.
What information should I provide for a hardware recommendation?
