SpeechLive overview
See how SpeechLive fits together
Choose how your team turns recordings into reviewed work
Use this overview to choose between AI-assisted transcription with your typist, SpeechLive Legal Direct and template-based AI drafts.
DictaMic helps map your workflow and demonstrate the fit. Compare the options below or request a guided conversation before choosing a plan.
How the workflow fits together
SpeechLive manages recording, upload, assignment, transcription and review. In our AI-assisted transcription setup, an Author records with Pro and sends work to a Typist with Pro plus SpeechAI legal speech recognition. SpeechAI transcribes; the Typist checks and finishes the document for the Author’s approval. AI routes can help create text or drafts within supported workflows; they do not remove human responsibility.
Choose the output you need
| Route | Intended result | Completion |
|---|---|---|
| AI-assisted transcription | SpeechAI text checked and finished by your typist | Author records; Typist transcribes with SpeechAI and checks; Author approves |
| SpeechLive Legal Direct | Live text at the cursor in compatible desktop applications | Edit by voice and review the result |
| Professional AI Assistant | A structured draft from supported audio, custom templates and sources | Qualified business review |
| Legal AI Assistant | A selected-template legal draft, with Legal AI Assistant, Speech Recognition Legal and Enterprise workflow | The attorney or assistant checks and completes the draft. The attorney gives final approval. |
| Health AI Assistant | A structured clinical-note draft through a supported workflow | Clinician verification and medical judgment |
For law firms, SpeechLive Legal Direct combines legal speech recognition and the required SpeechLive workflow. Direct focuses on live dictation and voice editing. Recorded transcription uses the same recognition capability. Legal AI Assistant adds template-based drafting, with its required Enterprise and recognition included in the complete bundle. You choose the package that fits; you do not have to buy all three. We confirm additional user licences, supported features and existing-account migration.
SpeechLive roles are account responsibilities
The documented SpeechLive roles are:
- Administrator: manages account data, workflow settings and available administrative functions.
- Author: creates dictations using supported recording or upload routes.
- Typist: listens to assigned audio and transcribes or corrects the work for an Author.
- Office Manager: receives additional administrative access when assigned to an Author or Typist under the documented role model.
A professional reviewer, attorney, clinician or assistant may participate in a customer’s business process, but those descriptions do not create additional SpeechLive account roles. Product names such as Professional AI Assistant are also not user-role names.
Plans, bundles and eligibility are separate decisions
Not every capability, role, permission or product is included in every plan. AI Speech Recognition and the three AI Assistants have distinct outputs and may have different bundle, account, usage and eligibility requirements. An existing SpeechLive account does not automatically establish that an AI product can be added, and the general SpeechLive workflow trial does not establish access to an AI Assistant.
Use Plans and Pricing for current U.S. pricing, billing, tax, bundle, usage and trial details. DictaMic can then confirm the relevant account path without asking for passwords, recordings, dictated content or confidential documents.
Capture, integrations, security and hardware
SpeechLive supports current browser, mobile and desktop routes under published system requirements. Hardware compatibility varies by exact device, client and workflow. Named integrations also depend on current availability, plan, role and configuration.
Use Integrations to qualify a named business system and Compatible Hardware to check the exact device and client combination. Use Security and Privacy to review current information about hosting, encryption, access controls and AI data handling. Those routes provide the detail needed for technical review without turning this overview into a universal compatibility or compliance promise.
Human review remains part of every AI path
AI-generated output may be incomplete or incorrect. A qualified person must compare the output with its source material, correct it and approve it before use. AI output must not be treated as the sole source of truth or as a substitute for professional judgment or decision-making. Legal and clinical uses carry additional professional-review and prohibited-use boundaries on their dedicated pages.
SpeechLive and its AI options support document work. The customer remains responsible for the final document, the people authorized to approve it and the lawful use of the information involved.
Let DictaMic help qualify the route
Compare the options, then discuss the output, people, capture method and current account you need to evaluate. DictaMic can demonstrate a suitable route and help configure an appropriate trial. Use the dedicated product pages for examples and detailed professional-use boundaries; use Pricing to check dated commercial terms.
